Africa-Press – Liberia. The Interim Director-General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), Dr. Sia Wata Camanor, has concluded a weeklong series of interactive meetings with the Institute’s division directors.

The engagement, which lasted one week, was intended to give Dr. Camanor an in-depth understanding of each division’s mandate, ongoing activities, achievements, and challenges. It also aimed to foster stronger collaboration, improve coordination, and align divisional goals with NPHIL’s strategic priorities.

Throughout the sessions, division directors made comprehensive presentations highlighting their departments’ functions, current projects, successes, and operational hurdles. The discussions created an open platform for dialogue on ways to enhance institutional effectiveness and strengthen public health service delivery nationwide.

Dr. Camanor lauded the directors for their continued dedication to advancing NPHIL’s mission of protecting public health in Liberia. She acknowledged their efforts to sustain key public health programs and tackle emerging health threats, even in the face of limited resources.

“I am deeply impressed by the level of dedication, innovation, and teamwork demonstrated by our directors and their teams,” Dr. Camanor stated. “Your commitment to NPHIL’s vision and to the well-being of the Liberian people is remarkable. Let us continue to uphold professionalism, collaboration, and excellence in all we do.”

The Interim Director-General further pledged her commitment to collectively addressing the issues raised during the meetings, improving coordination, and building stronger institutional capacity across all divisions.

The weeklong engagement represents the start of a broader leadership effort to strengthen internal communication, boost performance, and ensure accountability within the Institute’s operations.
