Coach Manneh Urges Down Town FC to Overcome Early Mistakes

Africa-Press – Liberia. The head coach of Liberia Football Association first division outfit Down Town FC, Tarpha Manneh, is urging his players to bounce back from the mistakes that have cost them valuable points in their opening four matches of the ongoing 2025/2026 Liberia Football Association (LFA) National First Division League.

Speaking to reporters following his team’s 3–1 defeat to Paynesville FC, Coach Manneh expressed disappointment over his side’s third loss in four games. He emphasized that his players must recover quickly if the club hopes to secure a place among the top three teams in the league standings.

“My technical staff and I are working tirelessly to reawaken the winning spirit of Down Town FC,” Coach Manneh said. “That dream will only come true if we identify where our problems are, go back to the drawing board, and make the necessary tactical and logical adjustments to improve our performance.”

Manneh disclosed that he has observed recurring errors in all four matches played so far and hinted at making major changes in the midfield, forward line, and defense if players fail to respond positively in upcoming fixtures.

Down Town FC currently sits bottom of the First Division table with one win and three defeats from four matches.

Their only victory came against Discoveries FC in their third outing. The team lost 2–1 to Gardnersville FC in their opening match, followed by another 2–1 defeat at the hands of LISCR FC, before falling 3–1 to Paynesville FC.

The coach reaffirmed his commitment to improving the team’s standing before the first phase of the league concludes.

“My main goal since taking over Down Town FC has been to help position the club among the top three in the LFA First Division,” he said. “It’s now time for the players to focus their full attention on our next game against Borough FC and deliver the result we need.”
