Africa-Press – Liberia. President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has received one of the MEDays Forum’s highest honors, “the Grand Prix Award,” recognizing his leadership and advocacy for Africa on the global stage.

The award was presented to him during the 17th edition of the MEDays Forum held in Tangier, Morocco.

The Grand Prix is one of the Forum’s highest distinctions, recognizing President Boakai’s leadership, visionary governance, and his advocacy for Africa’s advancement in global affairs.

According to the Ministry of Information, the Liberian Leader was honored for his outstanding efforts to promote democratic governance and champion Africa’s role in shaping the global agenda.

During the ceremony at the Palais des Arts et de la Culture, he was praised for championing democratic values, fostering regional cooperation, and promoting sustainable development.

During a press briefing in Liberia, information minister Jerolimick M. Paih revealed that the president’s commitment to positioning Africa as a key contributor in global decision-making was also highlighted during the event.

In his remarks, he highlighted that President Boakai expressed gratitude to the Amadeus Institute and the Kingdom of Morocco, noting that the honor reflects not only personal recognition but also the resilience and aspirations of the Liberian people and the African continent.

“This award highlights the importance of Africa’s voice in reimagining the global order,” President Boakai said, adding, “Liberia stands ready to work with partners in shaping a future that is fair, peaceful, and inclusive,” he said

Meanwhile, the MEDays Forum, often referred to as the “Davos of the Global South,” brings together world leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss global fractures, shifting geopolitical dynamics, and pathways to shared prosperity.
