Ex-Justice Minister Relaunches Law Firm After Suspension

Africa-Press – Liberia. Dean & Associates Law Firm has officially relaunched after a six-year suspension, offering legal services in the country. The firm, founded in 2003, has had a team of experienced lawyers who over theyears provided expert advice on various legal matters, including corporate law, labor law, and human rights.

Counsellor Frank Musah Dean Jr. was appointed as Minister of Justice and Attorney General by former President George Weah in 2018, leading his law firm, Dean and Associates, to suspend operations to avoid conflicts of interest, according to a statement released on January 2, 2026, relaunching the opening of the firm.

The statement noted that the firm is focusing on International Business Law, Corporate and Commercial Law, and general Liberian laws. “We are about delivering high-quality, value-centered services, positioning ourselves as a transformative force in the country’s legal landscape,” the statement added.

According to the statement, Dean and Associates is a full-service law firmn providing comprehensive legal services to businesses operating within Liberia and across the region.

Cllr. Frank Musa Dean’s relaunch in Liberia’s private legal sector is a significant move, leveraging his vast experience in law, academia, and government.

As the founder and Managing Director of Dean and Associates Law Firm, established in 2003, he is bringing his expertise back to the private sector, the statement noted.

With over three decades of experience, including serving as Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Cllr. Dean has a deep understanding of Liberia’s legal system, the statement said.

Counsellor Dean is a seasoned lawyer with a rich background, having been admitted to the practice of law in Liberia in 1988. He holds an LLB degree from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law and an LLM from Columbia University School of Law, New York.

Before establishing his law firm, Counsellor Dean served as an Assistant Professor of Law at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law. During his tenure, he implemented reforms, including amendments to the Criminal Procedure Law, and established the Civilian Complaints Review Board.
