Africa-Press – Liberia. Monrovia, February 19, 2026: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has called on worshippers to embrace discipline, restraint, compassion, humility and service to humanity, amid reports of the formation of a paramilitary group known as the National Fula Security of Liberia, allegedly established to provide support during the holy month.

Although leaders of the Fula community have denied any association with the group, saying they are only aware of a volunteer body supporting Ramadan activities, the reports have drawn the attention of local authorities. The Ministry of Justice has denied that any such paramilitary group legally exists in Liberia.

In a statement released early Wednesday, February 18, 2025, the President extended Ramadan greetings and urged Muslim communities to strengthen their commitment to peaceful coexistence and public order.

He said the observance should continue to inspire unity and mutual respect regardless of creed or background.
