Africa-Press – Liberia. The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has held a successful meeting with Lahoucine Rahmouni, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco, focusing on issues affecting the welfare and security of citizens of both countries.
The meeting centered on the well-being of Liberians residing in Kingdom of Morocco and Moroccan nationals living in Liberia.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations to ensure the protection and safety of their respective citizens.
Discussions also highlighted the need for enhanced cooperation in combating human trafficking, migrant smuggling, and the falsification of immigration documents.
The two parties acknowledged that transnational crimes require coordinated efforts, intelligence sharing, and stronger institutional collaboration.
During the meeting, Rahmouni pledged his government’s support to the Liberia Immigration Service through capacity-building initiatives and the modernization of Liberia’s immigration system.
He further committed to facilitating an exchange visit of LIS officials to Morocco to strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote the exchange of best practices in immigration management.
The engagement marks another significant step toward deepening diplomatic and security cooperation between Liberia and Morocco.
