Africa-Press – Liberia. President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. has submitted a bill to the Legislature seeking to amend and restate Title 12, Chapter 20, Subchapter A, of the Executive Law, Liberian Codes Revised. The proposed act aims to restructure the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOF) to improve its administrative efficiency and capacity.
According to President Boakai’s communication, the legislation is intended to strengthen the Ministry’s statutory mandate by reforming and modernizing its administrative framework.
“The restructuring will enhance efficiency, improve coordination, and ensure that the Ministry is better equipped to manage Liberia’s diplomatic relations,” the President noted.
He further emphasized that aligning the Ministry’s administrative structure with contemporary governance needs will enable improved performance and productivity.
The reforms are also expected to strengthen the Ministry’s capacity to manage and advance Liberia’s foreign policy objectives, enhance administrative coordination across departments, and promote national development through effective international cooperation.
Meanwhile, the President’s communication has been forwarded to the relevant legislative committees for review by the Foreign Affairs, Good Governance, Executive, and Judiciary committees, to report within two weeks.
