In a moment of profound spiritual significance and national importance, Liberia today welcomes His Holiness Moran Mor Dr. Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan, the global head of the Believers Eastern Church, as he arrives on his first-ever visit to the country. The historic visit is expected to inspire unity, strengthen faith, and highlight the growing impact of the Church’s humanitarian and spiritual mission across the nation.

His Holiness arrived in Liberia on March 22, 2026, to a warm reception from members of the Church and well-wishers. During his stay, he will participate in a series of key engagements spanning spiritual leadership, national dialogue, and community development.

Born on August 27, 1959, in Kerala, India, His Holiness has devoted his life to missionary work, theological education, and global Christian leadership. From a young age, he committed himself to serving the poor and sharing the message of God’s love. Over the years, he has held several important roles within the Church, eventually being elected as the Metropolitan—the highest spiritual authority of the Believers Eastern Church worldwide.

His visit to Liberia reflects the expanding presence of the Believers Eastern Church in the country, a mission established with his blessing and global vision. According to the official itinerary, His Holiness will engage in the following activities:

March 22 – Arrival

Arrival in Liberia, marking the beginning of this historic pastoral visit.

March 23 – Official Welcome & Public Engagement

Meeting with the Governing Body of the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC), along with an address to the nation via radio, either live or pre-recorded.

March 24 – Internal Meetings and Outreach Activities

A staff meeting will be held, followed by an evening outreach program involving the distribution of rice to visually impaired individuals. Additional engagement with members of the Liberia Council of Churches is also scheduled.

March 25 – Government Engagement & Site Visit

A high-level meeting with the President of Liberia, emphasizing collaboration between faith-based institutions and national leadership.

March 26 – Development Initiative Launch

Launch of the Bridge of Hope building project, a key initiative aimed at strengthening community development and child-focused programs in Liberia.

March 27 – Youth and Community Engagement

Attendance at the final of the National Football Championship organized by the Church, along with the launch of a major Adult Literacy Program targeting 10,000 mothers across the country.
