U-Lah Town, Bong County — A wave of appreciation and renewed optimism swept across U-Lah Town on Sunday, March 21, 2026, as farmers and community members gathered to honor Representative Prince K. Koinah for his continued investment in agricultural development and grassroots empowerment.

The event, marked by heartfelt tributes and testimonies, brought together members of the U-Lah Lorkiamon, U-Lah Sorlehseh, and U-Lah Yanonbeh farming groups, all of whom credited the lawmaker with significantly improving their livelihoods through targeted support and consistent engagement.

The gathering highlighted what many described as a turning point for agriculture in Bong County Electoral District 1. Farmers recounted years of hardship marked by inadequate tools, limited access to quality seeds, and a lack of institutional backing. However, they noted that Rep. Koinah’s interventions have begun to reverse those challenges, enabling them to expand production, increase yields, and better provide for their families.

Leaders of the various farming groups emphasized that the provision of essential farming tools, improved seed varieties, and technical guidance has not only boosted productivity but also restored hope among rural farmers.

They pointed out that beyond material support, the representative’s willingness to listen and collaborate has made his approach uniquely impactful and sustainable.

“Before now, many of us were farming just to survive, with little expectation for growth,” one group leader stated. “But today, we are beginning to see farming as a business and a pathway to a better future because of the support we have received.”

Another leader added, “Representative Koinah has shown us that leadership is not just about making promises but about delivering real change that people can feel in their daily lives.”

Farmers also underscored the broader importance of agriculture, noting that it remains the backbone of their community and a critical driver of food security and poverty reduction. They praised the lawmaker for placing agriculture at the center of his development agenda and for ensuring that even the most remote communities are included in his initiatives.

During the program, several additional voices echoed similar sentiments: “We are no longer left behind as farmers. For the first time in many years, we feel seen, supported, and valued,” said a representative of the U-Lah Yanonbeh group.

“The tools and training we received have changed how we farm. Our harvests have improved, and our children are now benefiting from the fruits of our labor,” remarked a member of the U-Lah Sorlehseh group.

“This intervention has reduced the burden on struggling families. We now have the means to grow more and sell more,” another farmer noted. “What makes this support different is that it came at the right time when we needed it most,” said a youth farmer from U-Lah Lorkiamon.

“We believe this is just the beginning of greater things to come for agriculture in our district,” concluded another community member.

Beneficiaries of the initiative also shared deeply personal reflections on how the support has transformed their lives.

One farmer explained that prior to the intervention, he struggled to cultivate even a small plot of land due to a lack of tools and resources. Today, he manages a larger farm and has begun supplying produce to nearby markets, significantly increasing his household income.

Another beneficiary, a single mother, recounted how the assistance enabled her to return to farming after years of hardship. She described how access to seeds and training has empowered her to rebuild her livelihood, support her children’s education, and regain a sense of dignity within her community.

In response to the recognition, Rep. Koinah expressed profound gratitude to the farmers and community members for their trust and appreciation.

He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents, particularly those in rural and underserved areas.

In an extended remark, he emphasized that agriculture remains central to sustainable development in Bong County and Liberia at large. He noted that empowering farmers not only strengthens food systems but also stimulates local economies, creates jobs, and reduces dependency on external support.

“True development begins with empowering our people at the grassroots level, especially those who feed the nation,” Koinah stated. “When we invest in our farmers, we are investing in the future of our country. My commitment is to ensure that no farmer in District #1 is left without the tools and opportunities needed to succeed.”

He further elaborated on his vision, stressing the importance of building long-term partnerships and strengthening institutional support for agriculture. According to him, collaboration with development partners, local authorities, and community groups will be key to sustaining progress and scaling up interventions.

“We must move beyond short-term solutions and build systems that will continue to support farmers for generations,” he added. “This includes improving access to markets, introducing modern farming techniques, and ensuring that our farmers are equipped to compete in an evolving agricultural landscape.”

The lawmaker reinforced his dedication: “Our farmers are resilient, hardworking, and full of potential. What they need is the right support, and I am determined to continue advocating for resources and policies that will uplift them and transform agriculture in our district.”

“I see a future where Bong County becomes a leading agricultural hub, not just within Liberia but across the region. That vision starts with empowering communities like U-Lah, and I will not relent in pursuing it.”

Community leaders at the event also called for sustained collaboration between government actors, development organizations, and local stakeholders. They urged others in positions of authority to emulate Representative Koinah’s approach by investing directly in grassroots initiatives that yield tangible benefits.
