Bong County Senator Prince Kermue Moye Sr. has commenced a county wide tour aimed at engaging citizens, assessing pressing community needs, and providing updates on legislative activities and national governance.

The tour began on Saturday in Yellequelleh Administrative District in Electoral District 5 where the senator was joined by Representative Eugine JM Kollie along with a cross section of local leaders, youth groups, and ordinary citizens.

The gathering in Jorkeh’s Town attracted a large turnout as residents presented key concerns affecting their communities and called for urgent interventions.

Addressing the citizens, Senator Moye explained that the tour is intended to continue his connection with the people and gain first-hand understanding of their challenges while working collaboratively to design solutions that reflect the true needs of the population.

He emphasized that sustainable development can only be achieved when leaders remain accessible and responsive to the voices of the people they serve.

In an extended reflection on the significance of the tour, Senator Moye described the initiative as a continuation of his long standing commitment to inclusive leadership and grassroots engagement.

He noted that his decision to travel across the county during the legislative break was driven by the need to ensure that development efforts are aligned with the realities on the ground and that no community feels left behind.

“Working together with my colleagues including Representative Eugine Kollie shows that development is not about individual effort but about collective responsibility for the betterment of our county,” Senator Moye said

He also highlighted the importance of unity among leaders in delivering tangible results for citizens. “We have come back to our people because leadership is about service and presence and not distance. This county tour is not just about seeing communities but about listening deeply and acting responsibly on what we hear.”

“I believe that when leaders walk with their people and sit with them and understand their daily struggles then the solutions we provide will be meaningful and lasting. My work in the Senate is guided by the voices of Bong County and this tour is a way to strengthen that connection and ensure that every district benefits from national representation. Working together with my colleagues including Representative Eugine Kollie shows that development is not about individual effort but about collective responsibility for the betterment of our county,” Senator Moye said.

He further elaborated on his collaboration with Representative Kollie, describing it as a model of unity and shared vision for progress in Bong County.

According to him, their partnership demonstrates that elected officials can put aside differences and work together to uplift their constituents through coordinated development initiatives and mutual support.

During the engagement, citizens from various groups presented a range of requests including support for road maintenance along the Gbartala to Fenotoli corridor, assistance for local leadership structures, construction of town halls, vocational training opportunities for women and youth, improved healthcare services, and continued rehabilitation of key feeder roads.

In response to these concerns, Senator Moye made several commitments and donations to address immediate needs while laying the groundwork for long term interventions.

He provided financial support to the Yellequelleh Drivers’ Union to enhance road maintenance and office operations and pledged motorcycles to assist local leaders in improving mobility and coordination within their communities. He also committed solar lighting systems for towns and villages to improve safety and access to electricity.

Additional support included the provision of rice and financial assistance for ongoing road rehabilitation in Jorkeh’s Town, funding for transportation for citizens and midwives, and building materials to support the completion of Jorkeh’s Town Public School.

The senator further pledged vocational training programs for market women and motorcyclists as well as additional construction materials for a town hall project in Gonovo’s Town.

He also assured residents of his support for the expansion of Gbartala Clinic including plans to assist in the construction of an annex and the provision of essential items for midwives.

Representative Eugine JM Kollie also addressed the gathering and expressed his appreciation for being part of the county tour. He described the initiative as an important step toward bridging the gap between leaders and citizens while ensuring that development efforts are inclusive and responsive to local needs.

Representative Kollie highlighted the value of collaboration in leadership and praised Senator Moye for taking the initiative to engage directly with the people.

He noted that his participation in the tour reflects his commitment to working alongside the senator to deliver meaningful change in District 5 and beyond.

“I am proud to stand with Senator Moye as we move across our communities to listen to our people and respond to their needs. This tour is a clear demonstration that when leaders work together we can achieve more for our citizens,” he said.

“My presence here is not just symbolic but it is a reaffirmation of my dedication to ensuring that the voices of District 5 are heard and addressed. By joining this tour, I am able to engage directly with our people and contribute to shaping solutions that will improve their lives. Together we will continue to advocate for development projects that bring real impact and strengthen the future of Bong County,” Representative Kollie stated.

The tour is expected to continue in other districts including Electoral District 4 where additional communities will have the opportunity to present their priorities and engage with their leaders.
