GBARNGA – Bong County Senator Prince Moye has ended the first phase of an extensive countywide tour across Bong County, engaging residents in multiple districts while outlining a series of development commitments aimed at addressing pressing community needs and improving local livelihoods.
The tour, which covered Yellequelleh, Zota, and Jorquelleh District Number Two, was designed to provide citizens with updates on the Senator’s legislative work at the national level, strengthen ties with constituents, and gather firsthand information on priority areas requiring government intervention.
The first leg of the tour commenced on March 27 in Yellequelleh District, where Senator Moye visited Joker-ta and inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of the Taylor-ta to Joker-ta road.
The project, being implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture with support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development, is expected to significantly improve transportation and access to markets for local farmers.
During his visit, the Senator pledged 30 bags of cement to support an ongoing school construction project. He also promised the installation of solar-powered streetlights across several communities in the district, a move aimed at enhancing security and improving nighttime visibility.
In addition, he provided financial assistance to the Yellequelleh Driver Union to support road maintenance efforts, and donated building materials, including two bundles of zinc, for the construction of a town hall in Gonovo Town.

The tour continued on March 29 in Zota District under the leadership of District Four Representative Robert Flomo Womba. Several development projects were officially dedicated during the visit, including two road projects, a youth center in Shankpallai, a guest house in Gbarnsue, and a pipe-borne water system in Naamai.
These initiatives were primarily undertaken by the office of Representative Womba, with support from Senator Moye.
While in Shankpallai, Senator Moye pledged to furnish the youth center with chairs, fans, and a DSTV set to enhance its usability for young people. He also visited the Shankpallai Clinic, where he called on county authorities to prioritize its upgrade in the upcoming County Council Sitting budget, citing its poor condition and the need for improved healthcare services.
In Gbarnsue, the Senator promised to fully furnish the newly constructed guest house and commended Representative Womba for his visible commitment to development across the district.
The final phase of the tour took place on March 30 in Jorquelleh District Number Two, beginning in Foloblia, the district headquarters. Residents there acknowledged Senator Moye’s previous contributions during his tenure as Representative, including the construction of a commissioner compound and a multipurpose hall.
Responding to new requests, the Senator pledged to reconstruct the town’s only public school and to complete an unfinished town hall project, both of which are considered essential to the community’s growth.
In Tamayta, residents appealed for the construction of a maternal waiting home at a clinic built by the Senator in 2014. In response, he instructed County Health Services Administrator Sam T. G. Siakor to initiate the process, assuring residents that necessary materials would be provided. He also committed to compensating volunteer health workers at the clinic pending their formal inclusion on the government payroll

He further pledged to fully furnish the youth center with DSTV and chairs. Additional commitments included support to local Unity Party leadership, the distribution of 30 bags of rice to elderly women, and the provision of two motorbikes for the Community Watch Forum.
In Gbenequelleh, the Senator pledged to upgrade the local clinic, construct a larger town hall, and build a police depot to strengthen security presence in the area.
At his final stop in Duaita, Senator Moye promised to provide sports jerseys, chairs, and additional infrastructure support to benefit the community, particularly young people.
Speaking on broader infrastructure development, Senator Moye reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving farm-to-market roads across the country.
He noted that essential equipment and bailey bridges have already been procured to support ongoing and future road projects nationwide.
He ended the tour by expressing gratitude to citizens for their active participation and continued support. He emphasized that their input remains critical in shaping development priorities and ensuring that government interventions reflect the real needs of the people across Bong County.
