A former Montserrado County Senatorial Candidate during the December 8, Special Senatorial Elections Sheikh Al Moustapha Kouyateh has lashed out that the re-election of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in the upcoming general and presidential elections will be a political suicide for Liberians.
According to Kouyateh, such decision to re-elect President George M. Weah will show that Liberians are preparing to get on board a plane with untrained pilot who will dump the country.
Speaking Tuesday on Truth FM the former Congress for Democratic Change Member said, what Liberians need from President Weah’s leadership is a free, fair and transparent election.
He told the media that there are good and experienced Liberians whose quality of leadership ability that Liberians can elect comes 2023 general and presidential elections, but he did name any of those qualified Liberians who could lead the country better than President Weah.
“We should have transparent Elections, it does not have to be me, but the will of the people“, he said. Kouyateh further disclosed that his criticism against the CDC Led –Government is nationalistic and grounded in the love for country.
The former Montserrado County Senatorial Candidate noted that Liberia has a long way to go, stressing that it is time for Liberians to stand up for the betterment of the country before it goes down the drain.
“We celebrated two hundred years what have we done as a nation; what have we achieved as people of this country; all of those countries that we got established before them; you know when they say the land of return; those descendants of people that came at the time under our law, are foreigners; so how do you expect them to return; what land are they returning to”? He wonders. At the same time, he extolled President Weah for completing the renovation of the Executive Mansion including the building marketers.
