LIFOCA Issues Reminder on Coaching Qualification Compliance

Africa-Press – Liberia. The Liberia Football Coaches Association (LIFOCA) has issued an official reminder to all club leaders participating in the ongoing 2025/2026 National League Season to strictly comply with the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Competition Committee’s regulations regarding the qualification and certification of coaches.

According to LIFOCA, the association has been mandated by the LFA to ensure that only qualified and certified coaches are appointed to technical positions across all divisions and competitions in Liberia.

In its notice, LIFOCA outlined the minimum qualification requirements for technical staff as part of efforts to maintain professionalism and improve coaching standards in Liberian football.

For the First Division, a Head Coach must possess a CAF A, B, or Pro Diploma, or an equivalent qualification approved by the LFA, while a Deputy Coach must have at least a CAF B Diploma.

In the Second Division, a Head Coach is required to hold a CAF B Diploma, and the Deputy Coach must possess a CAF C Diploma.

Similarly, in the Upper Women’s Division, a Head Coach must hold a CAF B Diploma, while a CAF C Diploma remains the minimum requirement for Deputy Coaches.

LIFOCA further emphasized that any coach who has not attended the CAF Refresher Course even if they hold the required diploma will not be accepted for appointment as a Head Coach.

The association warned that clubs failing to meet these standards risk facing sanctions or disqualification from the league.

LIFOCA, in its concluding statement, urged all club owners and administrators to fully comply with the LFA’s coaching regulations to uphold the integrity and growth of Liberian football.
