Africa-Press – Liberia. The Founder and Chairperson of The Centrism Movement, Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala, has issued a stirring call for Liberians to believe once again in their nation’s ability to heal, unite, and rise toward a brighter future.
Addressing a vibrant crowd at the Monrovia Christian Fellowship Hall, 9th Street, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, Gbala described the launch as a hopeful day, a day that reminds all that Liberia still has the power to rise, to heal, and to choose a better way.
Setting the tone for the Movement’s mission, he declared, “This is the heartbeat of Centrism. We are not here to fight for sides. We are here to fight for solutions.”
He reminded the audience of the tragic cost of Liberia’s past conflicts, over 250,000 lives lost, homes destroyed, and families torn apart, stemming from national vices that grew unchecked: greed, exclusion, corruption, hatred, abuse of power, and winner-takes-all politics.
“Any nation that feeds these vices walks toward destruction,” he warned, adding with conviction, Centrism is the antidote.
Earlier in the day, the Grand March for Peace and Consciousness drew crowds of students, professionals, civic leaders, and supporters. Participants, adorned in Centrism-branded colors reflecting the Liberian flag, projected unity and determination.
The launch, held under the theme “Building an Inclusive Liberia for All, Void of Destructive Political Orientation”, marked a major milestone in the Movement’s push for national cohesion, balanced leadership, and responsible civic engagement.
Inside the hall, speakers outlined the Movement’s vision, structure, and long-term strategy. The ceremony featured cultural performances, keynote addresses, and a panel discussion on “Building an Inclusive Society Void of Destructive Politics.”
Gbala placed young people at the center of Liberia’s renewal. They are, he said, “the heartbeat of this Movement,” adding that Liberia cannot rise without them. He also mentioned that young people deserve a country where ideas matter more than insults, where talent matters more than tribalism.
At the same time, he honored Liberian mothers, noting their immeasurable role: Their prayers, he reflected, have protected this nation more times than the record shows.
A lawyer and advocate of democratic governance, he concluded with a message of unity and an invitation, underscoring the day’s central theme. The Centrism Movement, he pointed, is open to all Liberians who share a commitment to a peaceful, inclusive, and forward-leaning Liberia.
