The opening of Yenglee Memorial Hospital, a modern 30-bed facility in Ganta, Nimba County, marks a significant milestone in improving health care access for the region’s growing population.

This addition complements the existing Ganta United Methodist Hospital, making a total of three functional hospitals in the city, each serving thousands of residents across multiple communities.

Speaking at the hospital grounds, Robin G. Gontee, the Administrator of Yenglee Memorial Hospital, emphasized the facility’s importance as a vital resource for Nimbaians and Liberians at large.

He described the hospital as a “relief” that will address urgent health needs by providing accessible and affordable medical services.

The hospital is equipped with medical supplies and technology sourced entirely from American manufacturers, ensuring high-quality patient care.

Additionally, the hospital operates an ambulance service not only for its own patients but also for other facilities, charging minimal fees to make emergency transport affordable.

This ambitious project was funded and constructed by Nyahyah Karbeah, a native son of Lower Nimba County who currently works with Liberian medical consultants in various hospitals across the United States.

Mr. Karbeah’s investment is seen as “giving back” to his community by bolstering the country’s healthcare infrastructure. Mr. Gontee commended these efforts and urged continued support from Liberians and the Liberian government under President Joseph Boakai to sustain and expand the hospital’s impact.

Yenglee Memorial Hospital’s mission is centered on enhancing healthcare delivery within Liberia by providing modern, efficient, and compassionate medical services.

The hospital is staffed with trained medical professionals, including physician assistants, nurses, and technicians, who are committed to delivering proper attention and treatment. Isaac Kruah Kolaker, a physician assistant, highlighted the hospital’s advanced equipment and machines, which add immense value by enabling accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.

Currently, Yenglee Memorial Hospital serves four key communities in the LPMC Back Pass area, responding to the healthcare needs of those populations.

Since its opening, the hospital has seen a steady increase in patient visits, reflecting the trust the public has placed in its services.

Its presence not only eases the pressure on existing hospitals but also improves overall health outcomes by providing timely medical interventions.

In summary, Yenglee Memorial Hospital stands as a beacon of progress for Ganta and Nimba County. Its modern facilities, dedicated staff, and community centered approach are transforming healthcare delivery in this vital region of Liberia.

Continued investment and support will be essential to ensure that this hospital remains a frontline institution serving generations to come.
