Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Youth for change Incorporated, a non for profit organization is expected to launch its fourth edition of its national debate championship on March 3rd with 450 participating schools.<\/p>\n

The Youth for Change Incorporated, has been accredited by the Ministry of Education as the official host of debate activity in all high schools across Liberia since 2017.<\/p>\n

According to the group\u2019s Executive Director, Alex Devine, the national debate championship will kick off its fourth edition on Thursday, March 3rd with a launching ceremony at the Monrovia Christian fellowship center in Sinkor.<\/p>\n

He said the competition this year will include 450 high schools from across the 15 counties with theme: \u201cMeasuring Learning Outcomes in Liberia\u201d. He added that the event this year will be used to measure students output which is tie to measuring Liberia\u2019s educational system outcome.<\/p>\n

Mr. Devine said the Liberia national debate championship was established in 2015 with a quest to help secondary students grow intellectually and identify Liberia\u2019s brightest students and assigned them to a mentor that will groom them into their respectively field of studies.<\/p>\n

According to him, the Liberia national debate championship was established in 2015 as a result of their quest to help secondary students improve their communication and interpersonal skills and as well increase their critical thinking abilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the debate was introduced in 2015 with 20 participating High Schools in its first edition in Monrovia, this year will host a nationwide competition in the 15 counties across Liberia for the first time in three stages: the preliminary, central and the grand final stage,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
