Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Two Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) cadets today graduated from the Nigerian Army Short Service Course 47. According to a press release from the Embassy of Liberia in Abuja, Nigeria, AFL officers K. Tennih and S.N Paul, were part of a class of 293 cadets who took part in a colourful Passing Out Parade and commissioning ceremony at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna, Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Nigeria\u2019s Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magash\u0131 (Rtd.), inspected the parade and commended the cadets for their hard work and accomplishments in preparation for deployment in the Nigerian army.<\/p>\n

Making specific reference to the two Liberian allied officers, the Defence Minister said he was pleased that the excellent bilateral relations subsisting between Nigeria and Liberia found additional impetus in the training of the two Liberian cadets, who he praised for performing well. The array of dignitaries attending the program included the Ambassador of Liberia to Nigeria, Dr. Al-Hassan Conteh, the Chairman of the Nigerian Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume, and other Nigerian military brass.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Conteh was accompanied to the program by First Secretary\/Consul Mr. Daniel Rogers and two residents of the Liberian Community in Kaduna: Ms. Cassandra Gwehi of Baobab Bank Kaduna, and business woman Ms. Bendu Sackor.<\/p>\n

Established on 5 February 1964, the NDA is West Africa\u2019s premier military university that has trained scores of Liberian army officers as part of a standing Memorandum of Understanding between Nigeria and Liberia that contributes to security sector reform in Liberia.<\/p>\n
