Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The first-leg match between Liberia and Guinea in the U-17 Women\u2019s World Cup qualifiers will be officiated by Mauritania\u2019s three international women referees.<\/p>\n

Aissata Lam, who served as 4th official during the Liberia vs Senegal match on October 20, 2021, has been appointed to serve as center referee and will be supported on the sidelines by her compatriots Mariem Chedad and Houleye Diba. Gambia\u2019s Fatou Ngum will serve as 4th official.<\/p>\n

The match is expected to be played this weekend, as the Liberia football association is yet to announce the date and venue of the match. Prior to this assignment, the three Mauritanian referees were appointed to officiate the first-leg match between Senegal and Mali in the 2022 Women\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.<\/p>\n

The trio last officiated in Liberia as a team in January of 2020, during the match between Liberia and Niger U-17 women\u2019s national teams. The first round of the 2022 African U-17 Women\u2019s World Cup Qualifying Tournament is scheduled for this weekend with 24 teams facing off for the next round of the qualifying tournament.<\/p>\n

Lone Star U-17 women\u2019s team have for the past weeks continued their closed-door training sessions, while their opponents, Guinea, over the weekend won 3-2 in a friendly match as part of preparations for the weekend\u2019s encounter.<\/p>\n

The aggregate winner from the match will meet the winners between Senegal and Ghana in the next round.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s edition is the 8th Qualifying Tournament. The biennial international youth football competition is organized by the CAF to determine which women\u2019s under-17 national teams from Africa qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women\u2019s World Cup. Three teams will qualify from this tournament for the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women\u2019s World Cup in India as the CAF representatives.<\/p>\n
