Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The quarterfinals of the 2021\/22 LFA knockout cup, officially known as the PetroTrade Cup, will kickoff today at two different venues hosting four matches.<\/p>\n

Bea Mountain will be bidding to reach the semi-finals when they face second division side Tony FC in the first match at the SKD Practice Pitch in Paynesville. The Cape Mount-based side beat Heaven Eleven 2-0 in the round of 16, while Tony FC narrowly pinned Bong Rangers 2-1 to secure their spot at this stage of the tournament.<\/p>\n

Bea Mountain are going into today\u2019s match with a disappointing feeling from their weekend\u2019s league fixture, where they were forced to a 2-2 draw against relegation-threatened Invincible Eleven.<\/p>\n

The \u201cGold Boys\u201d missed out on the semifinals of the tournament\u2019s previous edition after a 2-1 aggregate defeat against LISCR FC. After a 4-1 league victory over Ganta Almighty over the weekend, Tony FC is also desperate to progress to the last four of the tournament. In the previous edition, the Margibi-based club\u2019s journey ended in the quarterfinals after a 4-2 loss to title holders Watanga FC.<\/p>\n

Muscat vs Invincible Eleven – SKD PP 4:00 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

In the second match at the SKD Practice Pitch, Muscat FC will be looking to continue their impressive run from the round of 16. They defeated Pags FC 4-0 and will host rejuvenated IE. It wouldn\u2019t be a surprise when the \u201cSunshine Yellow Boys\u201d edge past MUSCAT to reach the last four. This is based on the team\u2019s recent performance and the new breed of players added to their roster for the rest of the season as they continue to battle relegation.<\/p>\n

LISCR vs Nimba Kwado – Tusa Field 4:00 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

Four-time FA Cup winners and last season\u2019s semi-finalists, LISCR, are set to face-off against last season\u2019s semi-finalists, Nimba Kwado, for the second time in less than a week at the Tusa Field in Gardnersville. LISCR secured a 1-0 away win over the weekend in a league outing, placing Kwado in a position to seek revenge in a crucial encounter.<\/p>\n

LISCR brushed aside Ganta Almighty 4-1 in the round of 16 to reach this stage, while Kwado eliminated Oilers 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw in Sanniquellie. This will be the third meeting between both teams this season with either enjoying a share of victory. Today\u2019s match will be a tiebreaker.<\/p>\n

Monrovia Club Breweries vs Nimba FC – Tusa Field 2:00 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

Titleholders Monrovia Club Breweries continue to struggle in the league but are keen on retaining their FA Cup. Breweries, seven teams seeded in this year\u2019s round of 16, kicked the ball rolling with a 1-0 win against 2nd division side NPA Anchors. Today\u2019s test could be a tough one against Nimba FC. Nimba FC has had an impressive run so far, edging out Jr. Professions 3-1 in the first round before a spectacular 2-1 win over last season\u2019s finalists Watanga FC in the Round of 16.<\/p>\n
