Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Members of the House of Representatives are expected to pass into law a bill granting prosecutorial power to the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) and other integrity bills.<\/p>\n

The proposed law titled \u201cAn Act Amending and Restating An Act to Establish the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) will grant the anti-graft institution prosecutorial powers.<\/p>\n

The lawmakers are also expected to pass a bill known as the Whistle-blower Act of 2022 that is seeking to protect whistle-blowers, as well as Witness Protection Act 0f 2021 which seeks to grant protection to witnesses.<\/p>\n

The House Plenary is also reviewing other instruments to be legislated before its Independence Day break this week. These include an Act to Amend the Alien and Nationality Law and Money Laundering, Terroristic Financing, Preventive Measures and Proceeds of Crimes of 2021.<\/p>\n
