Peters <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Several residents living along the Manor River route, Grand Cape Mount County say they are dismayed by the gradual cut or disconnection of their road.<\/p>\n<p>Residents of the Community on early Thursday Morning woke up to the surprise of the only road connecting Bambor Town junction to the Manor River route being gradually cut off following a heavy downpour.<\/p>\n<p>The gradual disconnection of the road has placed the lives of residents in the area at stake and impeded normal economic activities in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in a telephone conversation with this paper on 15 September 2022, Bombor Town Junction Community chairman Richard Nyenkan described the situation as a blow to the community and the western region.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the road is a major route that connects to the Manor River where people transport goods and other services in order to get their daily bread.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis road is very major, my brother. We were sleeping last night and when we got up this morning, we saw the road damaged and it\u2019s giving [a] difficult task to cars to drive in,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor now, we are using only bikes and even the bike [operators] are afraid to come in,\u201d he explained further.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Nyenkan said they are worried about the lives of their children and other farmers that are in the area that want to transport their crops from the community.<\/p>\n<p>He said these people have no other means of earning a living.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that the situation has also caused a serious challenge for the already difficult schooling activities for students living in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are therefore calling the attention of the local authorities in the county as well as our legislative caucus to come to our aid because we are living in fear for our lives and [our] children,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, we are also calling on the Ministry of Public Works and the Government of Liberia through President George Weah, bad road medicine.
