Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Kokoyah District, Bong County \u2013 The Turkish Mining Company, MNG Gold, has presented a 500 Kilowatts transmitter to the management of Radio Kokoyah, a local radio station in Bong\u2019s Kokoyah District, to increase its capacity.<\/p>\n

The presentation of the 500 kilowatts transmitter was the result of a communication by the management of the radio station to the company through the office of the Government and Public Relations Department of the company.<\/p>\n

Delivering the transmitter to the station\u2019s management in the presence of the District One lawmaker Albert B. Hills, MNG Gold\u2019s General Manager, Mr. Cem Koray Yagci recounted the tremendous work Radio Kokoyah continues to do in the dissemination of information to citizens and the promotion of peace through its programs.<\/p>\n

Mr. Yagci also admitted that Radio Kokoyah remains instrumental in promoting his company activities and providing citizens the platform to express their views about the workings of the mining company.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe media is very important in maintaining peace and promoting democracy in every given society. said Mr. Yagci.<\/p>\n

He used the medium to appeal to citizens of Kokoyah and all effected communities to be patient as the company was working out modalities in delivering on its cooperate social responsibilities to their respective communities.<\/p>\n

Taking delivery of the transmitter, Rep. Hills thanked the company for responding to the request of the station in such manner.<\/p>\n

The Bong County District #1 lawmaker said the transmitter will greatly help the radio station in expanding its broadcast operations across the district and beyond.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Government and Public Relations Manager, Mr. Benedict Sayeh, added that the company once helped the radio station with broadcast materials and will always intervene when called upon.<\/p>\n

He recommended to the station\u2019s manager to firstly get a professional person from Gbarnga for the installation of the transmitter, thereafter, the company will see reason in helping for the cost attached.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Manager of Radio Kokoyah, Victor Smith, also thanked MNG Gold for the gesture, stating that the transmitter came at a time when the station was striving for improvements.<\/p>\n

He assured the management of the company that the transmitter will be used for the intended purpose.<\/p>\n
