Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Representative Moses Acarous Gray (CDC-District 8, Montserrado County) has warned Senator Prince Johnson against verbal attacks on President George Weah. He called on the Senator to use diplomatic means to address issues he has with the ruling establishment and the President.<\/p>\n

In an interview with reporters on Monday, Rep. Gray also frowned on the Nimba County Senator for constantly accusing the CDC government of not giving top jobs his kinsmen\/women.<\/p>\n

Senator Johnson had argued times without numbers that the agreement that lured his support to Senator George Weah in 2017 included providing appointed positions of citizens from Nimba, however, according to him, President Weah has failed to fulfill his side of the bargain.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s about time the Senator stops talking because every time he talks, he shoots himself in the legs. There was a bad agreement passed while he was Senator. Senator Johnson was a Senator when Mittal steel brought containers for his people to live in, in Nimba.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet the Senator make no mistake, we are working in Nimba County. This is a ruling party and we have all it takes democratically to win every county including Nimba County. Jobs cannot be given on tribal lines, people should not be arguing about giving their tribal people jobs. The President is appointing people based on competence,\u201d Rep. Gray said.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Daybreak Africa on VOA over the weekend, Sen. Johnson said his decision to withdraw his support from Pres. Weah is because the people of his county have not benefited from the Weah-led government.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we expected in the past is not what we see on the ground, we had believed that being the World Best, European Best, African Best, all the best, with his election, he would have attracted investors to Liberia to create jobs and alleviate the suffering on our people through their investments, but since his election, the world has abandoned us in the sense that no investors are coming. And what we are doing in the country is just ratifying loan agreements and you cannot build the country based on loans,\u201d Sen. Johnson said.<\/p>\n

Sen. Johnson claimed that a delegation from the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) comprising the former Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel McGill, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dee-Maxwell Kemayah, Maritime Commissioner, Lenn Eugene Nagbe and the Minister of Finance, Samuel Tweah, paid him a visit to request him to reconsider his decision but, according to him, he turned them down.<\/p>\n

Gray fulfills promised<\/b><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Representative Gray also presented to the community leadership of Bernard\u2019s Quarter Community in District 8 US$3,500.00.<\/p>\n

The amount was given to the women\u2019s group, the youth group, the chairman, and the barber association.<\/p>\n

District 8 contains 23 communities. The donation, according to the lawmaker, the money is intended to give the new leadership start-up towards their initiative.<\/p>\n
