{"id":30608,"date":"2023-01-26T15:39:53","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T15:39:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/liberia\/all-news\/house-releases-timelines-for-budget-hearing"},"modified":"2023-01-26T15:54:23","modified_gmt":"2023-01-26T15:54:23","slug":"house-releases-timelines-for-budget-hearing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/liberia\/all-news\/house-releases-timelines-for-budget-hearing","title":{"rendered":"House releases timelines for budget hearing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The Legislative Budget Office (LBO) of the 54th Legislature has released calendar of events for the 2023 draft budget hearing with Ministries and Agencies, with revenue component of the budget under spotlight.<\/p>\n<p>A press release from the House of Representatives says the budget hearing opens on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 10:00 Am, with the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, National Port Authority, Liberia Revenue Authority, Liberia Petroleum Refining Corporation (LPRC), and the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) taking the stand before its Ways, Means and Finance Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Day two of the exercise is slated for Wednesday, February 1, 2023, and will bring together six Agencies namely; the Liberia Telecommunication Authority (LTA), Ministry of Mines and Energy, Ministry of Transport (MOT), Ministry of Justice, Liberia National Police and the Liberia Immigration Services (LIS).<\/p>\n<p>The release says then come day three, Thursday, February 2, 2023, when another batch of six government agencies are expected to appear. They are the Ministry of Commerce &amp; Industry, Liberia Business Registry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Post &amp; Telecommunications, and the Ministry of Gender, Children &amp; Social Protection, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Day four follows Friday, February 3, 2023, bringing together the Ministry of Public Works, National Road Fund, Forestry Development Authority (FDA), Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Health, and the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL).<\/p>\n<p>Then come day five, Monday, February 6, 2023, when the Environmental Protection Agency, Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation, and the Liberia Domestic Airport Authority will appear.<\/p>\n<p>The release quotes the LBO as stressing that all presentations will be led by heads of Institutions and teams, and sector head Ministries will remain for presentation by sector members.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, it notes that institutions not mentioned in the budget will be encouraged to present budgetary requests while others not appearing will submit presentations and meet sub-Committees as the case may be. <b> <\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/liberia\">Liberia<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Liberia.
