Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Partisans, supporters, sympathizers of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change took the streets of Monrovia in total celebration and jubilation as they march on the Antoinette Tubman Stadium with the sole purpose to giving their standard bearer and President, Mr. George Manneh Weah the second mandate to contest in the 2023 Presidential and Legislative elections.<\/p>\n

The principal streets turned blue, the official color of the ruling establishment, despite the event which could not allow free movement of people within the city circle, some sub political divisions of the country were engaged in similar acts by gathering at their respective county\u2019s capitals to petition the president for the second term presidential bid.<\/p>\n

The CDC is the conglomeration of three parties include; Weah\u2019s Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), the Liberian People Democratic Party (LPDP) of former House Speaker Alex Tyler and the National Patriotic Party (NPP) of Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor.<\/p>\n

However, Mulbah K. Morlu, Chairman of the Coalition for Democratic Change refuted allegations that the Coalition was on the brink of collapse when he presented a renomination document to President Weah to seek a second term on behalf of the Coalition.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. President, we have come as a coalition to let you know that your people (the three parties making up the Coalition) have agreed in unison and have declared that there is no vacancy for the Presidency in October 2023,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this document, they have come in one word to assure you of your continuity on the ticket to secure another six years.\u201d<\/p>\n

The LPDP is represented by its National Chairman Moses Y. Kollie, meanwhile, raised the motion for the president to be renominated, which was seconded by the NPP\u2019s Jewel Howard Taylor, who\u2019s also the vice president.<\/p>\n

President Weah in his acceptance speech said he needs additional six years to complete what he has started as a president, urging his supporters not to listen to members of the opposition whose aims he said are to blackmail him despite the achievements he has recorded over the past six years.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t listen to them. They say because you are following me you don\u2019t know anything, even though some of you who are behind me went to school and got degrees, some of you are lawyers, some you get Master\u2019s degrees, but they still say because you are following me you don\u2019t know anything,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey like it, they don\u2019t like it, it\u2019s 12 years old.\u201d Let me ask you this question, since they say you don\u2019t know anything because you follow me, 6+6 is how much,\u201d he asked the crowd, the crowd then responded, “12 “, and he received applause.<\/p>\n

However, Chairman Morlu Sunday afternoon And I wish I could call each of you one by one, but that\u2019s not possible due to the fact that you\u2019re a multitude, hundreds of thousands of gallant men & women who worked hard to ensure H.E. George M. Weah\u2019s Nomination remains the BIGGEST PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION PROGRAM EVER HELD IN LIBERIA.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the Chairman of the Nominating Program Committee Hon. Thomas P. Fallah, I say thank you to everyone that contributed to the success of yesterday\u2019s program.<\/p>\n

What you accomplished yesterday demonstrated the POWER of a resilient & determined people who will let nothing stand in the way of CHANGE; yes, a visible CHANGE, which must be continued & strengthened under the stewardship of H.E. George M. Weah.<\/p>\n

I say thank you to you all because, \u2018You Came Outside\u2019 Yesterday in your hundreds of thousands & you kept the entire Central Monrovia locked down, including ATS; which was filled to overflowing as almost all adjoining streets overflowed with members, supporters & sympathizers of the CDC & its illustrious leader.<\/p>\n

I say thank you beloved partisans, sympathizers, members & affiliates of the CDC because you did not only lockdown Monrovia for the President, but you held impressive & concomitant nomination programs in several regions outside Montserrado County.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve done what no other candidate has ever attempted except, H.E. George M. Weah to whom you\u2019ve shown unprecedented commitment & support for re-election.<\/p>\n

Thank you Western Liberia for assembling in GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY yesterday in your thousands to nominate the President.<\/p>\n

Thank you Nimba for the huge assembly yesterday in Sanniquellie, which summoned the spirit of the CDC 2005 momentum in Nimba when Amb. George M. Weah, standard-bearer of the CDC\/2005 won Nimba in the first round. The turnout yesterday signifies that sons & daughters of Nimba are taking notice of the unprecedented development gains Nimba is getting under President Weah.<\/p>\n

Thank you Grand Gedeh, Maryland, Rivergee, Sinoe & Grand Kru Counties for organizing momentous & simultaneous nomination programs yesterday at different locations, testifying to the unwavering support you continue to commit to one of your greatest sons, brother & father, H.E. George M. Weah.<\/p>\n

Thank you to our distinguished Bassa people, especially along the Bassa belt stretching from Rivercess to Buchana where an impressive nomination program was also held.<\/p>\n

Thank you Lofa County for increasing your support for your party & President as was demonstrated in the huge nomination programs you planned in Voinjama.<\/p>\n

Thanks to all diaspora chapters for the support & relentless commitments to the President & the party.<\/p>\n

A big thank you to all members of the National Executive Committee of the CDC, the Coalition for Democratic Change, & party stalwarts for the incessant commitment & hard-work.<\/p>\n

Plenty thanks to the youth league, Women League, regional, County & district leadership structures, & all Auxiliaries of the mighty CDC. Thank you a lot to all zonal heads, Militants, Gladiators & Revolutionaries of the Mighty party for staying focused & committed.<\/p>\n

Thank you very much to our prolific first-time voters; you\u2019re making a difference that can no longer be ignored.<\/p>\n

\u2018Your thank you\u2019 very much, the Christian Community, Muslim Community, Tailor & Transport Unions, Teachers, Market Women, Business Men & Women, Pen-Pen Riders, students, civil servants, fishermen & Cyber Warriors.<\/p>\n
