Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission says it has again received a second report from the Ministry of Justice asking the Commission to take charge. The LACC in a statement says it has received the investigative report on Corruption charges at the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation in which several officials there were deemed to have acted improperly in the management of the state-owned corporation.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Justice in a letter under the signature of Justice Minister Frank Musa Dean called on the Liberia Anti-corruption Commission to take control and pursue the individuals involved to restitute public resources the Commission said they stole.<\/p>\n

A statement from the Liberia Anti-corruption says while it has no problem with the returned of these cases, it is equally mindful of section 11 of the Act establishing the Commission which calls on the Commission to coordinate with the Ministry of Justice in the prosecution of cases.<\/p>\n

The Country\u2019s Anti-graft Agency in its investigative report to the Ministry of Justice called for the restitution or criminal prosecution of several individuals from the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation for funds they alleged to have stolen from the entity.<\/p>\n

This is the second case the Ministry of Justice has returned to the LACC in the last few weeks. Recently the Justice Ministry asked the Liberia Anti-corruption commission to take seize of a case involving its Vice Chairperson Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala and NPA Managing Director Bill Tweahway over allegations of conflict of interest. The Commission says it has with immediate effect taken seized of the matter and will act in keeping with law.<\/p>\n
