Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Entrepreneurship is critical to private sector growth, without which, Liberia will not achieve any significant economic development, Mr. Alexander Cummings, founder of the Cummings Africa Foundation, has said.<\/p>\n

Cummings also stressed the need for government support to ensure that entrepreneurs have access to credit and finance to grow and develop their businesses as engine for economic development.<\/p>\n

He said besides access to finances, entrepreneurs will have to be consistent, insistent, focused, determined, with achievable goals and set objectives, using technology to enhance business growth.<\/p>\n

The Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) Standard Bearer made the assertion when he spoke at the graduation program of the Entrepreneur Academy on Friday, February 24, 2023.<\/p>\n

The Entrepreneur Academy, established 2016, is a youth led organization committed to preparing youths and empowering them to build a better and more sustainable future.<\/p>\n

The organization also provides literacy support to primary and secondary school students to enhance their reading and speaking skills.<\/p>\n

Cummings said unless the government help grow the private sector, Liberia will make no significant advancements including job creation. He assured that a CPP Government would invest heavily in entrepreneurship and make sure that Liberians are more involved with government procurement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will make no apology for making Liberians who are hardworking, committed and dedicated to be rich,\u201d Cummings told cheering participants at the graduation ceremony last Friday.<\/p>\n

Following the graduation ceremony, the CPP Standard Bearer launched a major debate at the Education Corporation Liberia, in Paynesville, on the theme: Reawakening the Spirit of Dialogue: Hallmark to promoting Non-violence in the Electoral Process.<\/p>\n

The debate brought together two separate groups emphasizing the imperative to use dialogue instead of reverting to violence to settle electoral disagreements and differences as Liberians move towards the General and Presidential elections slated for October 10, 2023.<\/p>\n

Cummings stressed the need for adequate support and supervision by both local and international partners to ensure the October 10 elections are free, fair, transparent and reflect the will of the Liberian people.<\/p>\n

Later, on the same Friday, the CPP Standard Bearer, along with Party stalwarts embarked on a major voter\u2019s education effort, urging Liberians to muster the courage and turn out to register during the voter\u2019s registration period from March 20 to May 11to enable them vote in the October elections.<\/p>\n

The National Elections Commission (NEC) has set March 20, as the kickoff for voters to register nationwide.<\/p>\n
