Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Long-standing Nimba County political godfather and Senator Prince Y. Johnson have appealed to former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf to forgive her former Vice President, Amb. Joseph Nyumah Boakai for any issue she has against him.<\/p>\n

Speaking over the weekend via a telephone conversation on Spoon FM, Sen. Johnson said former President Johnson-Sirleaf has a major factor in the pending October 10 presidential and legislative elections.<\/p>\n

Senator Johnson described former President Sirleaf as a serious factor in the 2023 elections, saying she will play a major role in the election of the country\u2019s next president.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Sirleaf is a major factor in this election. You just can\u2019t overlook her. She has all the international support you can think of … she also has a major role to play on October 10,\u201d said Johnson.<\/p>\n

Amb. Boakai, Unity Party\u2019s standard bearer, served as former President Sirleaf\u2019s vice president throughout her two six years term.<\/p>\n

But he failed to secure her support in his bid to succeed her in the 2017 presidential and legislative elections which incumbent President George Manneh Weah won.<\/p>\n

Senator Johnson supported Mr. Weah in the 2017 elections, and it was also reported that Mrs. Sirleaf and her Unity Party loyalists backed Weah over Boakai.<\/p>\n

There were claims that Baokai did not commit to protecting the former president and her interests.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, I am appealing to her to forgive the former Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai for everything he did that you didn\u2019t support him in 2017. Please forgive him,\u201d Johnson continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am appealing that whatever he may have done to you, I am opening the Holy Bible, the Lord\u2019s prayer, that we must forgive those who transgress against us if we want God to forgive us because every day we sin,\u201d Senator Johnson pleaded with Mrs. Sirleaf.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Senator Johnson said former President Sirleaf didn\u2019t help Amb. Boakai during the election.<\/p>\n

He thinks it\u2019s now time that the bad blood and differences be put aside and they work together to have this done.<\/p>\n

He suggested that \u201cif we keep crossing our minds, the Lord will not hear us as stated in Isaiah 55:2.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd so with that, I want you to forgive Amb. Boakai from whatever things you think he has done against you. He served you twelve years and so I think, I just think she was never receptive. I think if she forgives him and repents from sin, she will move forward,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
