Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Monrovia\u2019s Gardnersville FC seems to be unhappy with a social media post made by its Technical Director, James Debbah, accusing LISCR FC and Watanga of match-fixing.<\/a><\/p>\n

The club issued a statement on its official Facebook page on Wednesday, distancing itself from the social media post made by its Technical Director.<\/p>\n

Debbah had accused LISCR and Watanga of match-fixing in a post on his Facebook page on April 24. Although he deleted the post, it was captured by FrontPage Africa.<\/p>\n

The former Lone Star Coach claimed that the two clubs were owned by the \u201cemperor\u201d and the president of the LFA\u2019s assistant, Deputy Minister of Sports G. Andy Quamie, but he did not provide any evidence to support his claims.<\/p>\n

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) invited Debbah on May 2 to a conference about a recent social media post.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The LFA stated in the communication that Debbah\u2019s statement, which was published without proper investigation, contained \u201cinnuendos inference\u201d that they considered \u201clibelous.\u201d<\/p>\n

He confirmed his summon by the LFA on his official Facebook page and described the communication as a \u201cjoke.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, his post was made in specific reference to the Orange Cup match between LISCR and Gardnersville FC, for which LISCR won on post-match penalties after regular time ended in a stalemate.<\/p>\n

Debbah claimed that Gardnersville FC were denied two justifiable penalties by the central match official who was later suspended for a couple of weeks after the investigation.<\/p>\n

He added that the match was pinpointed as a case study by the CAF instructors who conducted the just-ended CAF B Licence course at the SKD.<\/p>\n

Debbah expressed concern about the state of the national league and the \u201cdecadence of immorality\u201d that has taken over, stating that for the national team to be competitive, the national league must be up to standard.<\/p>\n

But the club, in its statement, said they considered Debbah as their Technical Director, but the publication was made squarely in his name and not the name of the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the record, we have our official social media outlets where information about the club is published,\u201d the club statement read.<\/p>\n
