Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The new Collaborating Political Parties would be holding its convention in Ganta, Nimba County, where the standard bearer, Alexander B. Cummings, is likely to name his vice standard bearer for the October elections.<\/p>\n

The two days national convention is expected to bring together 500 delegates from the 15 counties of Liberia, as well as the United States of America, Canada, and other parts of the world.<\/p>\n

The convention will be held under the theme, \u201cReal Change is Coming: Time to Fix our Country Together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Twelve committees, including Transportation, Lodging, Feeding, Finance, Communications, and Resolution have been constituted, with Counselor Aloysius Toe as Chairman, and Madam Ruggie Barry as Co-Chair of the CPP National Convention.<\/p>\n

The National Elections Commission (NEC), members of the Diplomatic Corps, opposition political parties, including the ruling party, the media and other prominent Liberians have been invited to observe the convention.<\/p>\n

At the convention, Cummings is likely to name his running mate for the upcoming elections. Several names have been surfacing in the media including Henry Yallah, former Senator of Bong County and Cllr. Charlyne Brumskine.<\/p>\n

FrontPageAfrica has gathered from closes Mr. Cummings that Cllr. Brumskine, daughter of the founder of the Liberty Party, Cllr. Charles Brumskine would be Cummings\u2019 preferred pick for the post.<\/p>\n

As per the current constitution of the CPP, Cummings, 66, who has over 40 years of working experience as an international businessman, is the Standard Bearer of the party.<\/p>\n

He worked with Pillsbury Company and moved to Coca-Cola Company, where he served as Regional Manager for Coca-Cola in Nigeria and later as Manager of Coca-Cola Africa, culminating his career as Chief Administrative Officer for Coca-Cola Global.<\/p>\n

He was conferred the Distinction of Knight Great Band\u2013Humane Order of African Redemption by Liberia\u2019s former President, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, for his great humanitarian work in Liberia and support to various institutions.<\/p>\n

Cummings is the Founder of the Cummings Africa Foundation, providing scholarships and educational assistance to hundreds of needy Liberian students.<\/p>\n
