McCarthy, the outgoing U.S Ambassador, has expressed his optimism regarding Liberia’s progress towards prosperity.<\/p>\n McCarthy noted that Liberia has the potential for a bright future if it addresses key issues such as peaceful, free, and fair elections, which are just 15 weeks away.<\/p>\n \u201cA more prosperous Liberia is, of course, one of the main goals at the U.S. and the reason we provide substantial support across various sectors, including health, education, business, and political leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWith continued commitment and collaboration, I am confident that Liberia has the power to emerge stronger and more prosperous than ever before,\u201d McCarthy said at a program marking the U.S. 247th Independence Day.<\/p>\n McCarthy then highlighted the remarkable bond shared between the U. S and Liberia, dating back to 1822 when the first group of African Americans settled in Liberia, laying the foundation for a new nation. Over the years, the two countries have cultivated a unique friendship, with the United States serving as a steadfast partner, working alongside Liberia to promote peace, stability, and economic growth.<\/p>\n McCarthy, who is as a robust diplomat is leaving Liberia as his tenure comes an end …as he \u201cexpressed deep gratitude for the warm welcome and friendship he received.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cServing as Chief of Mission has been the honor of a lifetime, and I will cherish the memories and experiences from this remarkable country forever, even as I begin my journey into retirement.\u201d<\/p>\n McCarthy noted that the United States and Liberia share a remarkable bond dating back to 1822 when the first group of African Americans settled in Liberia, paving the way for a new nation.<\/p>\n Throughout the years, the U.S. outgoing diplomat said that the two nations have built a unique friendship, with the United States remaining a steadfast partner, working alongside Liberia to promote peace, stability, and economic growth.<\/p>\n McCarthy also used the occasion to recognize President George M.
