On the occasion of Liberia\u2019s Independence Day, Upjit Singh Sachdeva, an Indian business tycoon known for his charitable efforts, distributed hot-cooked meals to inmates at the Monrovia Central Prison.<\/p>\n

Nearly all of the prison\u2019s 1,200 inmates were served delicious meals, which is something that Sachdeva does at least once a month.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, he emphasized the importance of empathy and said that it was the society’s responsibility to reach out and uplift those who have fallen on difficult times.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is essential that we show compassion and empathy towards every member of our society, irrespective of their circumstances,\u201d Sachdeva said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI firmly believe that everyone deserves a chance at redemption and support, and it is our responsibility to provide them with a glimpse of hope even in the darkest of times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Monrovia Central Prison, which is the country’s most populated prison, faces ongoing challenges in the provision of basic necessities and resources. Scadeva has on numerous occasions come to aid the prison with other necessities and, at least once a month, to feed the inmates with hot-cooked meals.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the prison authorities have praised Sachdeva\u2019s efforts, acknowledging the positive impact they have on the inmates\u2019 well-being.<\/p>\n

They emphasized the significance of such acts in fostering a sense of belonging, and gave a renewed sense of hope.<\/p>\n

\u201cUpjit Sachdeva\u2019s act of kindness is a powerful reminder that we should not forget those who are incarcerated,\u201d the prison authorities said. \u201cHe brought comfort and dignity to the inmates on this special day, and we are immensely grateful for his support.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has always been there for us whenever we called for assistance, and this monthly feeding of inmates is doing a lot of things for us. It always brings smiles to the faces of the inmates, but it has also given them a renewed sense of hope. It is heartening to see members of society coming forward to support those in need, and we are thankful for the positivity he has infused within our facility today.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Sachdeva also fed many at-risk youth in Central Monrovia and hundreds of Children in Weala, Cinta Township, and Margibi County.<\/p>\n
