Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>President George M. Weah cast his vote early as Liberians across the country turned out massively on election day.<\/p>\n

President Weah, dressed in a dominant white suit, was accompanied by his wife Clar Weah and son Champ Weah as he cast his vote at the Kendeja Elementary School polling precinct. He immediately marked his cross, a symbolic submission to God, much like a Catholic church believer, suggesting that the rest of the voting process rests on the shoulders of God.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Moments later, the Coalition for Democratic Change standard bearer reassured reporters, both local and international, that the process was safe.<\/p>\n

Weah, who is aiming for his second term, urged Liberians to maintain peace, emphasizing that the election is about the Liberian people, and therefore, they would be the ones to decide who becomes their president.<\/p>\n

Weah stated, \u201cLet us maintain the peace. We are pleased that the process is safe, and that\u2019s the most important thing. Liberians are exercising their democratic rights.\u201d<\/p>\n
