Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The United People\u2019s Party (UPP) has officially endorsed President George Weah for a second term in office, aligning themselves with the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) ahead of the upcoming runoff election. The endorsement ceremony took place on October 31, 2023, at Prime FM Radio Station in Monrovia.<\/p>\n

At the ceremony, the UPP political leader, Dr. Da Monyson Tarr, emphasized the significance of this moment in Liberia\u2019s democratic journey. He expressed his pride in announcing the party\u2019s unwavering support for President Weah\u2019s reelection bid, stating that the UPP believes in collaboration, unity, and working together for the betterment of Liberia.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe recognize the importance of putting aside partisan differences when it is in the best interest of the people, and we believe that the Coalition for Democratic Change embodies the vision of progress and unity that Liberia needs at this moment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Tarr further explained that the CDC embodies the vision of progress and unity that Liberia needs at this moment. The Coalition has demonstrated a commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability, which are crucial for the success of any democratic society. They have also shown dedication to improving the living conditions of the Liberian people, with a focus on economic growth, education, healthcare, infrastructure development, and job creation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Coalition\u2019s vision includes a deep commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability,\u201d he said, \u201cThese principles are the bedrock of a prosperous nation, and the Coalition for Democratic Change has demonstrated a strong resolve to uphold them. They are committed to justice and fairness, which are integral to the success of any democratic society.\u201d<\/p>\n

In light of this, Tarr urged all Liberians to vote for the CDC in the upcoming runoff election, as he believes it offers hope and the opportunity to work towards a Liberia of progress, unity, and prosperity. He emphasized that each voter holds the power to shape the nation\u2019s future and encouraged them to join the UPP in embracing the vision of a brighter future.<\/p>\n

Tarr concluded by calling for unity and determination, stating that together, a better Liberia can be built for all.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must not forget that the power to shape our nation’s future lies within each of us as voters. Your voice, your vote, and your support for the Coalition for Democratic Change will chart the course for our beloved country\u2019s destiny,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
