Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Several groupings comprising non-partisan and non-profitable organizations, under the aegis of Margibi professionals, along with students\u2019 groupings of Margibi County, have endorsed the 2nd term bid of incumbent President George M. Weah ahead of Tuesday\u2019s presidential run-off.The groups include the teachers\u2019 association, principals\u2019 association, Margibi\u2019s school system, motorcycle union, and students of Margibi.<\/p>\n

Heads of the various groups made separate endorsement statements on Friday, November 10, in Kakata, the county\u2019s capital, at a well-attended ceremony by thousands of members and supporters of the different organizations who thronged in from across Margibi.<\/p>\n

Roland Michael Nyumah, the representative of the Margibi Teachers\u2019 Association, lauded the Government of Liberia (GoL) for its support of education, stating that his institution is resolved to support Weah\u2019s second term.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank God we are old enough and informed to know the antecedents of President Weah, and his character traits. We bear witness that he is a man of integrity and a national patriot, the likes of whom are few in Liberia of today amongst the past and present leaders.\u201d Nyumah said.<\/p>\n

Nyumah applauded the \u201cmassive development\u201d being carried out by the president which he said was a right step in repositioning the country to its past glory.<\/p>\n

Also, the head of the motorcycle union, Amadu S. Bility, applauded the government and maintained that they stand with the government for a second term.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that continuing with President Weah\u2019s leadership could be the best decision for our country and people. We are optimistic that Pres. Weah will do better if he\u2019s retained so, the regime must be given a second chance,\u201d Bility said.<\/p>\n

Student Sarah Conteh, on behalf of the students\u2019 community of Margibi County, pledged their overwhelming support to President Weah\u2019s re-election bid.<\/p>\n

Student Sarah commended the CDC-led government and Pres. Weah for the sustainability of the peace of the country, noting that such a state of the nation has created the atmosphere for students to attain their desired education.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur conviction to support the reelection of President Weah is predicated on the many tangibles his government has achieved including food price stability, improvement in the energy sector and human rights, and the rule of law.\u201d She noted.<\/p>\n

Continuing, student Sarah said: \u201cUnder President Weah\u2019s stewardship, we have seen the construction of the state-of-the-art hospitals, new primary schools, roads, and market structures across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

For his part, Chief Cyril A. Allen, Chairman of the Margibi County campaign team of the Coalition of Democratic Change (CDC), said the gale of endorsements being received by President Weah is no surprise, adding that people are being attracted to the Coalition of Democratic Change (CDC) and President Weah due to the indicators pointing to the party\u2019s likely victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cLiberians are a group of people who like winners. When you are winning, they are with you; they don\u2019t like losers. So, let\u2019s go to this democratic process freely and fairly. No one should be encouraged to cheat. Let\u2019s win fairly so we can get stability in the country.\u201d Chief Allen noted.<\/p>\n

The CDC\u2019s Margibi County campaign chairman implored the people of Margibi that just as they voted a majority of their legislators from the Coalition of Democratic Change party in the October 10 polls, they should consider voting overwhelmingly in the Nov. 14 runoff the CDC standard bearer, adding that, if this done, their legislators could easily get access to the presidency and enable them to propel the development agenda of the county before the executive.<\/p>\n
