Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former president of Liberia and 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, will be awarded at the TIME100 Impact Awards Africa ceremony on Nov 17, 2023, at the Kigali Convention Center for promoting women’s leadership.<\/p>\n

Sirleaf, who was elected as the first female head of state in Liberia and Africa, will be honored alongside scientists, CEOs, artists, activists, pop stars, and politicians who are moving their world forward.<\/p>\n

The ceremony recognizes leaders who, through sustained effort, have done extraordinary work to shape the future of their industries and the world at large.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis spring\u2019s honorees range from the former first lady who has spent decades fighting for women\u2019s and children\u2019s rights to a prolific filmmaker and producer who reimagined how we tell stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to recognize the inaugural class of 2023 TIME100 Impact Awards Africa honorees for their remarkable accomplishments,\u201d said TIME Chief Executive Jessica Sibley. \u201cTIME is excited to bring the Impact Awards to Rwanda for the first time with the support of our partners at Visit Rwanda.\u201d<\/p>\n
