Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span> <\/b><\/p>\n U.S.-based Liberian security professional Mr. Amos Gbanee Jeffery has called on Liberian President-elect Amb. Joseph Nyumah Boakai to refine the country\u2019s justice and security systems.<\/p>\n Mr. Jeffery is a U.S.-trained security and a former Executive Protection Service (EPS) Officer who served during former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf\u2019s Administration.<\/p>\n Speaking via telephone with this institution on Sunday, 26 November 2023 from the U.S., he said the current security sector of Liberia is compromised and there is a need to refine the system\u2019s integrity that has been hindered by unfair and partial.<\/p>\n Mr. Jeffery mentioned that the compromised and unfair justice system in Liberia not only hinders the growth and development of Liberia but also has the tendency to destabilize the country\u2019s peace and economic prosperity.<\/p>\n He made specific references to the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), the National Corrections and Rehabilitation Services, and the Liberia National Police (LNP).<\/p>\n He also mentioned the judicial sector as one key area of government to have well-experienced professional integrity-minded people with merit to serve.<\/p>\n In recent times, he said Liberia\u2019s justice system has come under increased scrutiny, with critics raising concerns about alleged bias and inefficiency within the legal framework, coupled with a lack of security and protections for citizens\/professionals.<\/p>\n He lamented that the death toll had increased at key ministries and strategic entities like the LRA, MoFA, and Liberia Internal Audit Agency (IAA).<\/p>\n The former EPS Officer hopes that Boakai\u2019s incoming government will make a positive difference that would be in the interest of many Liberians.<\/p>\n Mr. Jeffery further recommended to the incoming Boakai-led government to prioritize transparency that would address systemic issues and bolster efforts to ensure equal access to justice for all citizens of Liberia.<\/p>\n The U.S.-based Liberian professional wants offices including the LRA, LPRC, Corrections, and LNP along with the judicial sector to be occupied by professional people with integrity and well-experienced people.<\/p>\n For More News And Analysis About Liberia<\/a> Follow Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Lincoln G.
