Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>A fifteen-man jury panel will hand a verdict today, Thursday, 21 December 2023 following Liberia\u2019s former Chief Justice Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott and three of her family members\u2019 trial for alleged murder.<\/p>\n

Cllr. Scott and Gertrude Newton, Alice Johnson, and Rebecca Youdeh Wisner have pleaded not guilty to the indictment following the murder of Charloe Musu.<\/p>\n

Their trial comes after sanctioned Monrovia Mayor and ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) secretary general Jefferson Koijee denied ordering the brutal attack in which Charloe was murdered.<\/p>\n

Charloe Musu was brutally murdered on 22 February 2023 at her mother Cllr. Scott\u2019s Brewerville residence after the former Chief Justice reported to police authorities two different criminal attacks on her home.<\/p>\n

Liberia\u2019s former Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) boss Cllr. Jerome Verdier has accused Koijee of allegedly ordering Monrovia City Police official Varlee Telleh to carry out the attack.<\/p>\n

Both Koijee and Telleh have denied the allegation that they were responsible for the attack at Cllr. Scott\u2019s Brewerville residence.<\/p>\n

Cllr. Scott said she had reported to police authorities two incidents of attacks at her home, but no action was taken before the third incident led to Charloe\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n

However, Cllr. Scott and three of her family members were instead indicted by Liberian prosecutors for Charloe\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n
