Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Monrovia- Eight-year running, businessman Amin Modad and family, have routinely identified with children within the Saye Town community and its surrounding during the New Year celebration thereby providing hot meals and gifts.<\/p>\n

The occasion this year, though not been hosted at the regular venue that caused little setback but organizers worked cooperatively with the community leadership to ensure that the celebration goes on as planned.<\/p>\n

Despite the change of venue, over three hundred children trooped in slowly, grabbing their seats as the organizers including Amin Modad who sat directly opposite the entrance of the fence admired the kids with utter excitement.<\/p>\n

The event got even more exciting as the kids became to show their creative arts with dance more. Their performances even captivated the organizers who then paired them with their peers in a competition. The best performers were presented a gift as a sign of gratitude for displaying talents positively.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, it has been one of the many small ways to give back particularly seeing how vulnerable, deprived, and denied majority of the children are. Some people think that they worked for their success and are not obligated to anyone,\u201d Modad said.<\/p>\n

He emphasized, \u201cWe (family) believe otherwise. Yes, we might be doing things differently and perhaps making choices that are propelling us ahead of others, but it still has to do with certain advantages and perhaps roles other people played in our lives. Thus, I feel obligated to share that\u201d<\/p>\n

Modad who expressed that he felt obliged to identify and share with the kids in the festive season, emphasized further that the most important for him is getting his kids involved.<\/p>\n

Said Modad, \u201cIn our household, we make our kids work and we reward them with privileges. They learn to serve others, to understand that there are two sides of the coin, that they are not better than others even if they are more fortunate. We are teaching them values that I pray will be with them as they grow and be part of their communities and society.\u201d<\/p>\n

He expressed gratitude to family including, siblings and their families his staff from the various businesses for taken pride in the annual event.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have grown to appreciate the philanthropic initiatives we are involved in. This party, the scholarships, the school and orphanage demonstrate to them that it\u2019s not only about making money and what it affords us individually.\u201d<\/p>\n

Modad revealed that he and wife were not born with silver spoon and would not don\u2019t forget where they came from.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can be demanding, I may be a perfectionist, I may be assertive, I may be successful in my own way, but I try to remain humble and grounded,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
