Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>A new medical and rehabilitation center, named the Courage Medical and Rehabilitation Center, has recently been opened in Bong County. The center, located in Kollietawolah on the outskirts of Gbarnga in District #2, aims to provide high-quality medical services to the people of the county and beyond.<\/p>\n

The medical center is an initiative of Mr. Dennis Garsinii, a prominent son of Kokoyah, Electoral District #1, and his family. During the dedication ceremony recently, Garsinii expressed his deep commitment to the well-being of the people of Bong County and his passion for saving lives.<\/p>\n

He has been actively involved in providing medical and non-medical supplies to health posts throughout Bong and Liberia since 2009.<\/p>\n

The construction cost of the Courage Medical and Rehabilitation Center is estimated to be over US$300,000. The facility will offer free medical services to children under five, and will provide treatments meeting international standards to the general public.<\/p>\n

Garsinii also announced plans to construct staff quarters, a care center for the elderly, and other necessary facilities.<\/p>\n

In addition to providing modern healthcare on par with international standards, the center will be connected to 12 international specialist doctors through an integrated medical diagnosis and treatment system.<\/p>\n

This system will cover a wide range of diseases and illnesses, including kidney, liver, heart, cancer, diabetes, and general ailments. The availability of advanced medical equipment, along with well-trained and experienced specialist doctors in Liberia and around the world, will help reduce the costs and challenges of seeking medical diagnosis and treatment abroad, such as in Ghana or India, Garsini said.<\/p>\n

The Courage Medical and Rehabilitation Center will also serve as a distribution center for clinics within District #1, Bong County, and other areas. It plans to donate up to 40% of its procured medical supplies to these healthcare facilities.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the center will ensure access to healthcare services in rural areas by providing ambulances and arranging periodic visits by medical doctors and healthcare workers to diagnose and treat general illnesses free of charge.<\/p>\n

The establishment of this center will create employment opportunities for over 100 health workers and support staff, offering economic benefits to the local community. The opening ceremony, which took place on January 10, 2024, was attended by health workers, citizens of Bong County, and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n
