Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The Coalition for Democratic Change \u2013 Council of Patriots (CDC-COP) has accused the Deputy Inspector General of the Liberia National Police Prince Mulbah, of masterminding the escape of Suspect Peaches Queen Johnson, who is wanted by the Police in connection with the death of a partisan of the CDC.<\/p>\n

A Unity Party partisan, Ms. Johnson reportedly escaped from police custody following her arrest over the weekend at a local entertainment center, Red Lion in Central Monrovia.<\/p>\n

But The CDC-Council of Patriots claims that Deputy Inspector General Prince Mulbah orchestrated the escape by arranging a vehicle and three officers to facilitate Queen Johnson\u2019s departure allegedly under the directive of former Police 102 Abraham Kromah, who according to the Council, said that President-elect, Joseph Boakai had promised Mulbah an appointment in appreciation for his years of service to the Unity Party.<\/p>\n

On December 5, 2023, the Liberia National Police declared Miss Johnson and several individuals wanted for an investigation into the death of Joshua Solomon, a 35-year-old beauty pageant trainer, and partisan of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).<\/p>\n

According to report, Solomon, allegedly sustained injuries on August 11, 2023, after Suspect Johnson was captured in a video footage with several others, beating him badly near the Unity Party\u2019s campaign office in Sinkor, for wearing a CDC T-shirt and face cap.<\/p>\n

Though Solomon allegedly suffered internal bleeding after the incident, leading to his untimely death, Police Spokesman Moses Carter, in a press conference requested Suspect Johnson and those who were identified in the video to turn themselves in for questioning, but no one showed up.<\/p>\n

A week after the Police ordered Suspect Johnson\u2019s arrest, she was picked up by the Liberian National Police at Red Lion Entertainment Center at the intersection of Broad and Buchanan Streets in central Monrovia.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, while en route to the Police Headquarters to face investigation, the suspect was driven off in a Police vehicle, Carter revealed.<\/p>\n

Days after this pronouncement, the LNP announced the dismissal of Officer Ithamar Harding (Code187), Chief of Technical Services of the Public Safety Division, for aiding Johnson\u2019s escape.<\/p>\n

Despite the dismissal, the CDC-CoP in a press release Wednesday, 10th January alarmed of unprofessionalism and political interference in the Police operation.<\/p>\n

The group accuses Mr. Mulbah of being a key figure in engineering Miss Johnson\u2019s escape and blames him for undermining the LNP over the last six years under the watch of Inspector General Patrick Sedue.<\/p>\n

The organization further alleges that Mulbah has been instrumental in fabricating charges against citizens to appease political allies in the Unity Party, thus bringing the LNP to public disrepute.<\/p>\n

It says that President-elect Boakai has promised to appoint Mr. Mulbah after his inauguration, arguing that Mulbah\u2019s alleged actions violate the code of ethics of a law enforcement officer.<\/p>\n

The CDC-CoP warns that appointing someone with such alleged unprofessional conduct to a security post under a Boakai administration could lead to pandemonium and chaos that could escalate into conflict.<\/p>\n
