Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The National Elections Commission (NEC) says it will this Friday, conduct a re-count in 70 Voting Precincts in Electoral District Number Four in Nimba County.<\/p>\n

The NEC says, this re-count in Nimba County is based on a mandate from the Supreme Court of Liberia. An 18-member team of technicians from the headquarters of the commission has been deployed to assist the Magistrate to conduct the re-count in Nimba County.<\/p>\n

In a related development, NEC has announced that it will conduct a re-run in Electoral District number 2, with Precinct Code number 27020, named Old Sodaken Town Hall in Maryland County on Friday, 25 January 2024.<\/p>\n

The Commission informs the public that the re-run in Maryland is also based on a mandate from the Supreme Court of Liberia.<\/p>\n

The NEC says, campaign for the re-run in the Old Sodaken Town Hall precinct, in Maryland county began on Wednesday, 17 January 2024 and will end on Wednesday, 23 January 2024.<\/p>\n

A 12-member team of technicians from the headquarters of NEC has also been deployed to assist the Magistrate to conduct the re-run in Maryland county.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Commission is inviting all stakeholders, including political parties, local and international observers and the media to witness both the recount in Nimba and to observe the re-run in Maryland counties.<\/p>\n
