Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The Liberia Diplomatic Think Tank (LiDTT) is urging the incoming government to rebrand the image of Liberia to the outside world by sending quality and integrity individuals to serve the Foreign Mission.<\/p>\n

LiDTT is an organization comprised of young professional Liberians who have obtained post-graduate diplomas in Diplomacy and Contemporary International Relations, from the prestigious Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute (FSI), at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n

The group aims to create opportunities for the promotion of Liberia\u2019s foreign policy internationally as well as the promotion of diplomats with academic credentials and experiences in diplomacy.<\/p>\n

In a release signed on January 17, 2024, by Hilary K.D Gbegeah, Chairperson of the group says rebranding the country\u2019s foreign service will motivate investors to come to Liberia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Liberia Diplomatic Think Tank encourages the incoming government to focus on rebranding Liberia\u2019s diplomatic image by assembling the most qualified and experienced minds for the Foreign Service, thereby strengthening the trust and confidence of international partners and investors,\u201d the group says.<\/p>\n

It continues: \u201cThe Liberia Diplomatic Think Tank is open to engagements with the incoming administration as well as development partners in support of the Liberian Foreign Service and emerging diplomats, with integrity-driven characters, a sense of civic leadership, and a commitment to promoting Liberia\u2019s foreign policy by providing responsive, supportive, and innovative services geared towards the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the release, LiDTT a premier and integrity-driven institution has dedicated its time to conducting research and seminars, thus identifying Liberia\u2019s positions at international bodies, as well as advocating for the equitable deployment of qualified Foreign Service Officers, and promoting Liberia\u2019s emerging diplomats.<\/p>\n

Also, the group has promised to work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant institutions to identify the new generation of Liberian diplomats with integrity-driven characters, a sense of civic leadership, and commitment to promoting Liberia\u2019s foreign policy.<\/p>\n

\u201cProvide responsive, supportive, and innovative services geared towards the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),\u201d LiDTT says<\/p>\n

It continues: \u201cConduct interactions with the international community and link with universities and international organizations in the best interest of emerging diplomats.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cForm partnerships with other relevant institutions for internship opportunities, provide volunteer services, and provide a network in association with diplomatic missions or development entities assigned in Liberia to contribute to nation-building,\u201d the group added.<\/p>\n

Also, as Liberia goes through a peaceful transition, the Liberia Diplomatic Think Tank calls on every actor involved with the ongoing transitional process to adhere to best practices regarding the smooth turnover from the current administration to the incoming administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Liberia Diplomatic Think Tank wishes to remind every Liberian that collectively we are all winners of this big party called \u201cLiberia\u201d and as such we urge everyone to work together in the spirit of patriotism for the forward march of the nation; regardless of political, socio-economic, tribal and religious affiliations,\u201d LiDTT added.<\/p>\n
