Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Another edition of the National County Sports Meet got underway on Saturday, December 11 with a mixture of excitement and boredom among supporters of the 15 counties of Liberia.
\nGroup A (Margibi)
\nMargibi 0-2 Grand Bassa
\nHosts Margibi had themselves to blame after putting out a discouraging display against Grand Bassa in the opening match of this year\u2019s County Meet.
\nAfter a goalless first half, Moses Meah became the star player of the day by recording a brace to quiet the majority of supporters (Margibians) at the Nancy B. Doe Stadium in Kakata, Margibi County.
\nMargibi\u2019s hitman, Abraham Fofana, couldn\u2019t announce himself to Margibians as usual, as he struggled to get a ball on target.
\nThe hosts are now under pressure ahead of their second match against Montserrado as another defeat will see them remain in the group stage of the tournament.
\nRiver Gee 1-0 Montserrado
\nUnderrated, perhaps because of their small population, River Gee showed that they are capable of making a deep run in this year\u2019s county meet.
\nPatrick Dweh\u2019s lone goal in the first half helped River Gee secure all three points after Montserrado failed to utilise a couple of chances that came their way in the first 45.
\nThe tournament will continue across the various venues on Wednesday, December 15.
