Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Paynesville City \u2014<\/b> FC Kallon-Liberia\u2019s dramatic 1-0 victory over LISCR FC has been greeted with excitement by the club\u2019s new owner, Cassell Kuoh. Kuoh, who recently purchased the club for an undisclosed fee, expressed his intention for the Liberia Football Association (LFA) presidency and sees the win as a first triumph against his main rival, LFA president Mustapha Raji, who is the owner of LISCR FC.<\/p>\n

FC Kallon-Liberia\u2019s forward, Mark Yallah, grabbed the spotlight as he netted from the spot in the 38th minute after Emmanuel Bunipele was fouled in the area. The crucial victory moved FC Kallon-Liberia four points within the safety zone with six games left before the end of the 2023\/2024 league season.<\/p>\n

The result brought joy to the face of Kuoh, whose side initially suffered a 4-0 defeat to Bea Mountain. Kuoh, a former vice president for operations of the LFA, has vowed to ensure that FC Kallon-Liberia, formerly Muscat FC, maintains its place in the LFA First Division League. FC Kallon-Liberia\u2019s president and CEO has already initiated changes within the club since taking ownership.<\/p>\n

The former FC Fassell owner, who also owns a football academy in the country, has paid two months\u2019 salary arrears of players and members of the technical staff since taking over the helm of the club on February 25, 2024. He has also purchased new pairs of boots for players as part of his motivation strategy to avoid relegation, along with a win bonus of USD $20 for each league win.<\/p>\n

Kuoh reiterated after his side\u2019s victory the need to purchase a brand new bus to ease the transportation constraints that the team endures when commuting to matches and training sessions. Speaking during his post-match interview, FC Kallon-Liberia Coach Emmanuel Kaykay said that the club owner\u2019s decision to ensure the players were camped prior to the match against LISCR FC was beneficial for his technical staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can see the changes for yourself since Cassell arrived at the Club. We now have more players showing up regularly for traveling, and camping the players before our league games is really helping the team,\u201d Kaykay said. \u201cI think he has made our task much easier. The players are motivated and putting in their all \u2013 as you saw against LISCR,\u201d Kaykay added.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have six games left, and our next match will be against Paynesville FC at the SKD Practice Pitch on Sunday,\u201d Coach Kaykay concluded.<\/p>\n
