Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The announcement of the Swedish Government\u2019s contribution to Liberia\u2019s Nationa Development Plan and President Joseph Boakai\u2019s 100-day deliverables comes as a boost to a government struggling to kick start its campaign promises.<\/p>\n

<\/b>The Government of Sweden has approved approximately US$400,000 (Four Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) in financing to complete Liberia\u2019s National Development Plan and President Joseph Nyumah Boakai\u2019s 100-day deliverables.<\/p>\n

The disclosure was made when Mr. Urban Sjostrom, Ambassador of Sweden to Liberia, met with the Senior Management Team of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning. Mr. Boima S. Kamara, Minister of Finance, led the team to the meeting in Monrovia.<\/p>\n

According to Amb. Sjostrom, the Four Hundred Thousand United States Dollars will be used to complete the development and implementation of the country\u2019s next five-year Development Plan.<\/p>\n

The National Development Plan represents the Liberian government\u2019s development agenda for the next five (5) years. The five-year plan will analyze the country\u2019s objectives and priorities in relation to all sectors and in response to identifying national needs.<\/p>\n

A meeting held on March 14, 2024, by the Liberian Government with International Partners on updates from the Government of Liberia regarding support to the country\u2019s next National Development Plan initiated the financing by the Swedish Government<\/p>\n

The Government of Sweden has been a partner to Liberia by providing financing that strengthens capacity in public administration, rule of law, accountability and respect for human rights, women\u2019s participation in political processes, and support in the health sector, among other things.<\/p>\n
