Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Paynesville FC sealed their first major trophy in the club\u2019s history Saturday beating the Oldest Football Club, Invincible Eleven IE 1-0 in the LFA Orange Cup Final played at the ATS.<\/p>\n

Lawrance Kumeh who was introduced in the last 15 minutes of the match became the hero as he slotted in the much-needed goal on the stroke of the 90 minutes to give Paynesville FC a deserve victory.<\/p>\n

Marlon Harrison stole the ball off the leg of Sholee Deco to wipe in a low cross that the IE defense fumbled to clear, hitting the heed of a player before falling in the path of Kumeh who put in all of his strength to fire in a low shot that the IE keeper had no answer for.<\/p>\n

Both sides wasted couple of good chances just before Lawrance Kumeh\u2019s late goal settled the matter at the ATS.<\/p>\n

IE were left frustrated with that injury time goal as all of their players felt to the ground weeping, but their tears could not redeem them of the defeat.<\/p>\n

The Yellow Boys should have levelled the score moments after restarting the game, but that last chance got wasted.<\/p>\n

Paynesville FC coach Dominic Savice a former winner of the LFA knockout Cup said it was mission half complete as they are now embarking on the second phase of the mission for 2023\/2024 season; that\u2019s the Caf Confederation Cup.<\/p>\n

Coach Savice praising the team spirit of his players said the season had been challenging, but their hard work paid off in the Cup final.<\/p>\n

He told State Radio Sports that reaching CAF was a long-time objective for the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously we discussed and planned for this long time. We will compete and set history. With Administration support, this team will reach where Liberian clubs have not reach in CAF.\u201d Coach Savice said.<\/p>\n

Coach Savice a former Liberia Black Star defender said the too many talents in Liberia need to be showcase at international level.<\/p>\n
