Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Founded on the 12th day of April, 2000, the Christian Student Movement of Liberia (CSML) celebrated its 14th anniversary in 2014.<\/p>\n

CSML was founded by a Liberian Pastor, Jehu G. Deshield-Fango, now based in North Dakota, United States of America.<\/p>\n

CSML is composed Christian Schools\u2014Elementary, Junior High, and Senior High\u2014located in various parts of Liberia\u2019s Capital City, Monrovia, and beyond. Some of CSML\u2019s partner-Schools are: Shining Star Academy, Church of the Believers School System, Grace United Christian Academy, Repentance Baptist School System, World Sanctified High School, Victory Mission Christian Academy, Triumphant Academy, and Immanuel Christian Academy.<\/p>\n

The anniversary began with a parade from the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville City. Golden Eagle Marching Brass Band led the parade. One of the marching songs was \u201cO When the Saints Go Marching In\u201d<\/p>\n

The indoor segment of the anniversary was inside the preaching hall of the Grace United Christian Church, located along the Paynesville-Roberts International Airport route.<\/p>\n

Under-16 (age) students were assigned to the \u201cInvocation\u201d (by Goodness Zayzay), \u201cWelcome Remark\u201d (by Faith Solunteh), \u201cIntroduction of the Program\u201d (by Aletta J. Fofana), and \u201cHistory and Objectives of Christian Student Movement of Liberia\u201d (by Vivian B. Gray)<\/p>\n

Reading the objectives on her Smart Phone, student Vivian B. Gray said: \u201cThe objectives are: To win souls for Christ, to keep the Christian generation alive, to help finance destitute or needy students, and to help students read the Bible daily.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bible knowledge quiz, among representatives of CSML\u2019s partner-schools, followed the reading of the objectives. Student Sham P. Yealue, 9th grader, of the Baptist Church School System, came first-place. Second-place went to student Johnny David Gbolokai, 10th grader, of the Shining Star Academy. Student Success S. Zeon, 8th grader, of the Triumphant Academy School System, clinched the third-place.<\/p>\n

The next performance was dance by \u201cSmiling Kids\u201d, a group of under-13, founded by Madam Mardea Hill, with the group\u2019s head office in 16-houses community, Paynesville.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sunnyboy S. King, General Supervisor of the Christian Student Movement of Liberia, and Vice Principal for Students Affairs at the Christian High School (owned by Church of the Believers), on 16th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia, introduced the Guest Preacher.<\/p>\n

The Guest Preacher was Bishop Anthony Cooper, based in the USA, a member of The Champions Temple International Church, and representing the Founder of CSML. The title of his sermon was \u201cTalents\u201d, with Text from Luke 12:18.<\/p>\n

Be began his preaching with Jesus\u2019 parable of talents\u2014about a travelling Master who gave five talents, two talents, and one talent to each of his three servants. Before preaching, he told the audience his message was direct most to the kids.<\/p>\n

\u201cTalents are resources the Creator, God, has given to you,\u201d he said. \u201cYou can be in the richest Country, America, but if you don\u2019t invest in or apply your talent, you will remain or die poor. You can be in Liberia, and if you invest in or apply your talent, you will be richer than somebody living in America.\u201d<\/p>\n

He attributed the financial deprivation of many Liberian Churches, as well as those in many other African Churches, to Church leadership\u2019s continuous failure to invest in the talents of other members of the Church.<\/p>\n

Later, he commanded the body of Christian kids, representing their various schools, to make the following declaration: \u201cI will invest in and apply my talent to be rich in my Country, Liberia, and help to develop the Country.\u201d The kids\u2019 response reverberated around the hall.<\/p>\n

At the end of his preaching, he launched CSML\u2019s \u201cScholarship Fund Drive\u201d with US$500, for himself, and US$250 for his USA-based Church\u2014The Champions International Church.<\/p>\n

Biblical Drill and Quizzing followed the Preaching. In the Drill, the Program\u2019s Master of Ceremony, Pastor Henry Bermah, announces a scripture in the Bible, and representatives of contesting schools search the Bible for the scripture and read the passage. CSML provided Bible to each of the representatives.<\/p>\n

In the Quizzing, the Master of Ceremony calls the name of a personality in the Bible, and representatives of each school provided information about the person. To be the first to answer the question, each school had to first strike an electronic bell to be recognized by the M.C.<\/p>\n

Madam Nancy L. Kekuleh served as the leader of Praise & Worship (songs) of the event.<\/p>\n
