Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>In continuation of continuous bilateral ties with the Government of Liberia, the Government of China has donated solar power to boost Liberia\u2019s postal infrastructure. <\/b><\/p>\n

The People\u2019s Republic of China has begun boosting the communication infrastructure and social-economic development of eight of Liberia\u2019s fifteen Counties.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the People\u2019s Republic of China, through its Embassy in Liberia, donated a solar power project to the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications.<\/p>\n

The project\u2019s implementation will provide a stable, reliable, clean, and green power supply for central offices and Post Offices in eight counties.<\/p>\n

The counties include, Montserrado, Bomi, Magibi, Bong, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, and Grand Bassa.<\/p>\n

The program was graced by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Sekou M. Kromah; the Deputy Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Augustine S. Karpeh; the Director General of Posts, Paul W. Thomas; and the Director General of the Cabinet, Nathaniel T. Kwabo, among other distinguished officials and media representatives.<\/p>\n

The donation ceremony brought together representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Liberia, headed by Ambassador Yin Chengwu.<\/p>\n

Officially turning over the equipment to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Ambassador YIN described the Solar Power Project as a boost for Liberia\u2019s local communication infrastructure.<\/p>\n

He said the solar power project is an important achievement of practical cooperation between China and Liberia, assuring that China is committed to helping Liberia achieve economic and social development.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Yin said he was honored to attend the handover ceremony for the solar power project donation. He added that China will continue to work with the Government and People of Liberia to strive for greater development of practical cooperation in all fields between the two countries and make positive contributions to building a China-Liberia community with a shared future.<\/p>\n

\u201cChina and Liberia are good friends, partners, and brothers. Under the strong leadership and strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Joseph Boakai, China-Liberia relations are ushering in a new stage. As always, China will continue pursuing the principles of sincerity, real results, amity, and good faith in China-Liberia relations and jointly promote fruitful results in China-Liberia friendly, pragmatic, and win-win cooperation\u201d, the Chinese Envoy concluded.<\/p>\n

Receiving the solar power equipment on behalf of the Government of Liberia, Minister Kromah expressed excitement and appreciation to the People\u2019s Republic of China through Ambassador Yin.<\/p>\n

He said the impact China has made in Liberia development and infrastructure is too many and Liberians are grateful.<\/p>\n

The Minister prior to assuming the post, he is aware of the development China has carried out at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in terms of capacity building.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe currently have two assistant ministers who obtained their master\u2019s degrees from China. We look forward to more benefits from the Chinese government. Finally, I want to thank the Chinese government on behalf of the President of Liberia, Joseph N. Boakai, who is excited about the handover of solar donation\u201d, Minister Kromah expressed. <\/b><\/p>\n
