Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The Momo Community League, a U-17 community league sponsored by Lonestar Cell MTN, will continue this weekend, with all 16 teams locking horns across four venues in an attempt to earn a spot in the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n

Since the start of the grassroots league, residents of the participating communities have witnessed some truly amazing performances by young talents.<\/p>\n

The Jacob Town field in Paynesville along the Japan Freeway will host Zone A matches. Victories for Chicken Soup Factory and Barnesville communities will guarantee their spots in the quarterfinals, but that will be a challenging task to accomplish as host Jacob\u2019s Town and Dixville communities can’t afford to lose another game after losing their respective opening matches.<\/p>\n

<\/a>It will undoubtedly be fascinating to watch.<\/p>\n

Similar drama is expected at Zone B’s host stadium, Battery Factory Field, where wins for West Point and Clay Street communities will see them advance to the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n

West Point earned their first three points last Saturday, May 12, after PHP Community forfeited, while Clay Street defeated Freeport Community 2-1 at the same Battery Factory Field.<\/p>\n

<\/a>In Zone C, St. Paul Bridge and New Kru Town communities are both level on three points after victories in their opening matches. Brewerville and Logan Town communities are the bottom two of the zone after losing their opening matches.<\/p>\n

This Saturday, the famous D.Tweh field will serve as host venue for the zone matches, with Brewerville locking horns with Logan Town in the first match at 2:00 PM, with leaders St. Paul Bridge Community facing host New Kru Town.<\/p>\n

Finally, Zone D, a zone comprising four communities from the Paynesville belt, is the only zone that witnessed both a win and a draw during the opening round of matches. R2 Community sits atop the zone with three points following a decisive 4-0 victory\u2014the biggest win so far\u2014over VOA Community.<\/p>\n

Gbanba Town and King Gray communities settled to an entertaining 1-1 last Saturday, securing a point each.<\/p>\n

R2 Community will face Gbanba Town this Saturday in the first match at the Right to Play Field in Paynesville before King Gray and VOA communities square off in the final match of the day.<\/p>\n
